Notes on Framing Prints
- keep your hands clean — white mats show everything, as does glass
- buy glass from a frame shop — hardware stores’ glass often comes dirty
- clean the glass on both sides with Windex no matter where it comes from
- careful with that pen, pencil and Windex spray — they can and will find their way to your mats and prints
- you can never have too much light
- you can never have a too-large, too-clean work table — I prefer mine tall
- if you’re doing more than 3 prints, break up the work into shifts
- if you’re transporting prints, wrap them well — blankets, packing paper, whatever
